I agree with you that they shouldn't had expended that much on the manufacturing of the console... and that Cell being quite exquisite plus Bluray made things quite skyrocket for it.... I do like to be able to play bluray on it, but considering Netflix coming it ended up only helping win a format war at the expense of users and a lot of money. So I wouldn't say they were arrogant (besides the "get two jobs" thing).
Yep it's significant (even if officially it's 50) but considering the impact it got I wouldn't say it's really that impressive and that they are probably selling at break even, not at loss to win more market like you say you expect Scorpio to come. And as a let down at the moment Slim pre-ordering is only for the more expensive version on Amazon as far as I saw.
