A product advertised for $258 in the US, you'd actually pay something like $290. (Depending on the state.)
So if this deal was advertised in the US it would say something like $230.

Also sales taxes in the US are a lot lower then the VAT added to most goods in Europe.  Sales taxes are usually less then 10%.  Where I live the sales tax is 8.25%.

It is always difficult to "translate" prices across borders. Some include VAT some don't. Some people want to compare Purchasing Power Parity and include average salary in the calculation. Some have high taxes and free medicare, some have low taxes and have to buy heath insurance instead. 

How to properly calculate the cost in other countries is not really easy.
