All the time. If someone yells at me to "hurry up or X will happen" then I wait to see if X will actually happen. Usually it won't and everyone will stand around awkwardly.
In Borderlands 2, I waited at the end and Lilith shot the bad guy for me.
One of the best, though, is Far Cry 4. If you wait at the very beginning like the villain tells you, he'll come back and the game will end after a unique cut-scene. That's pretty awesome.
