So, I've been thinking about picking up a Vita soon, and there were some things I just wanted to know to get some insight on what I might be getting myself into

1. Does the system come with a memory card or do I have to buy one separately?

2. What are some games you could recommend?

3. Would it be better to go mostly for physical or digital?

4. Is there something I should know before getting the system (example if there's hardware issues or something that doesn't work right)?

If anyone could answer these or point me to somewhere else that could, I'd appreciate it

1. Yes, there are some bundles with Memorycards, in Europe A LOT OF THEM even with digital games. On the US You can get the Borderlands 2 Bundle, 8gb MC and a code to download the game, for 200$. But the stand alone Vita 2000 is at 155$ on Amazon too. https://www.amazon.com/Borderlands-2-Limited-PlayStation-Vita-Bundle/dp/B00HLT0YT0/ref=sr_1_9?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1467130807&sr=1-9&keywords=vita

2. Vita have LOTS a great games on a great variety of genres. But there are some MUST BUY AND PLAY: Gravity Rush (a lovely sandbox where you control gravity), Tearaway (A nice adventure from MediaMolecule, LBP creators, really worth your time and money), Killzone (Best Firts Person Shooter on the handheld, and best graphics), Y's Celceta (A great Action RPG, ignore the subpar graphics, the game is great), Soul Sacrifice Delta (The bestand most complete Hunting-type Action RPG until God Eater 2/Resurrection releases soon, and great story, gameplay, graphics and music), Muramasa Rebirth (JUST BUY IT!), Stein's;Gate (AWESOME Visual Novel)

And my personal favorites: Guacamelee (the best indie I have played so far), Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend (Best 2D fighting game), Demon gaze ( a good DungeonRPG), Freedom wars (A good hunting coop and pvp game), Toukiden Kiwami (another great Hunting-type Action RPG), Dragon's Crown ( A fabulous Beat'em'Up). PLUS a lot more to look foward thatare coming soon. And there's more, specially on jRPG, indies and Fighting games... browse the store and any doubt    Youcan ask again here.

3. On the Vita you find almost EVERY game released so far on the Digital Store (The only exception right now is Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, which was pulled down because some licenses problembetween Capcom and Disney). So that's a advantage for the Digital, You can back up your games on PC or PS3. And most of future releases are coming as Digital only, mostly on the US store.

4. Sometimes the Vita can get "blocked" when charging, But you can do the R Button + Home 30 seconds hold, to reset and nothing more. On the Fat model you have to take in account that the propietary USB cable can get damaged easily, so if you get a Slim model is better, which uses a standart micro-usb cable. In general the hardware and SO is pretty solid, mine have almost 4 years with me and is working just as the first day, hundreds of games and hundreds of thousands hours later.
