It's pretty clear they have something unique in mind for NX, and it goes beyond just "shared library". It's something none of us can comprehend, because it's new and hasn't been done. So that's kind of fun/exciting/scary.
I think we can all feel safe though, Zelda BotW is coming and it uses no gimmicks. So we're sure the system can play regular games. And because Square has already said they're considering bringing titles like DQ and FF to the system, it's likely at least PS4/One areas of power.
I think some devs know what spec range the system will have. I doubt any of them outside Nintendo have seen the "gimmick".
