Girls perform better in school than boys. According to this article, approximately 2/3 of Uni students are now female.

Feminists are about equality. So where are the feminists who are trying to help boys get closer to girls in the world of academia?

Also of note, is that boys performed better when the teachers did not know the gender of those whose papers they were marking.

Thoughts?

Yet 2/3 of the gender gap remained even when the teacher was not baised because little jonny is a distruptive shit in class. So some bias exists, but there is still an inherent performance gap due to social factors outside the classroom.

When you get called a "girly swot" by your "friends" at school because you studied hard and did well in a test this tends to encourage boys to not try so hard because they don't want to be called a girl. So poor academic performance by boys is actually still associated with sexism against girls, because studying hard is a girly thing.

For decades girls have learned that they can't get by being as good as a boy, if they want to get ahead they have to be better. Again this is a symptom of a sexist society. Conversely, boys have gorwn up learning that they can get by slacking off a bit and not performing as well as girls because they'll still get ahead. Again, basic sexism in society.

And the negative social messages for women are still there. Despite girls doing better academically, men still outnumber women in the hghest positions in the corporate world, in academia and in government.
