OK, you're going to get a few devs complaining because they're thinking short term but developers with common sense will see the huge benefits here, and gamers will see those huge benefits too. Every game from here on out will be playable on the next iteration of the hardware. That means anything you bought on the PS4 will retain its value, and with all those games already created, maintain a revenue stream for developers indefinitely. It's the perfect scenario for everyone. We're passed the point where gamers look at older games with distain. No one will ever put UC4 in their new console and think 'Jesus, did we really play games that looked like that back in the day?'. What we'll see now are subtle differences like better lighting, better shadows, longer draw distances but most importantly, better acting, better scripts, better motion capture, etc. |
Unless Naughty Dog launches a new version of UC4, or makes a big patch to enable new features, UC4 will look the same on PS4, PS4K or whatever comes next. You can't use features that aren't coded in the game.
Please excuse my bad English.
