I think people just like to say the opposite of what is infront of them sometimes. 

Maybe we should find out about Scorpio before we know more about their direction. I think they are going PC but continue with hardware. They won't drop Xbox but their hardware will be Steambox like. This should enable MS to be both in the PC and Console market in a unified ecosystem.

I think it's clear MS wants a good chunk of the PC market, we just don't know how they will go about it.

Without Steam and locking their games behind the Windows 10's store, they will have a hard time trying to be successful on the PC Market.
