Very interesting thread, thanks for sharing your experience!
I never even used Steam yet, for somehow I thought it was Windows-only. Having heard now that it runs on Linux as well, and that actually such a huge percentage of games are already running on Linux, I guess it's really time to give Steam a try.
But I'm wondering if I should try SteamOS or try to make it run on my usual Linux desktop...
