| TalonMan said: Well, I have a Game Informer subscription - it makes good toilet material, that's about it. My wife got it for me a few years ago because she thought I'd like it, I never had the heart to tell her what a bunch of ass turds they are (did anyone catch the editor's column a few months ago where he had the audacity to wonder aloud why ANYONE could possibly think reviewers would tilt a review based on a publisher's whim?!?!?!? LOL!!!!!!) Anyway, my question is this - doesn't Game Informer = GameStop??? And if so, why would GameStop have any interest in picking apart ANY of the manufacturers (least of all, the one that's currently selling the most)? Not that I'm saying that they aren't - I just don't understand their motive. Are MS and Sony paying better incentives to them? Is Nintendo treating GameStop differently than other retail stores??? Just curious... |
Yeah, Game Informer = GameStop. I first found out about when I had become friends with a GameStop manager years ago. We were joking around about his store/company and he mentioned how GI was basically free. I think I said something smart like "That's still too much".
But he went on questioning me about why I didn't like the mag. One of the things I mentioned was how soft the reviews were on many games, he then told me it was GameStop's own magazine.
Since then I've read many times from other sources that GI is owned by them. Really pathetic if you ask me.
