Some prisons in Australia already do have their Prison population work, I know mine does, they farm crops, allot of that food is given to the poor, homeless, charity. etc'.
The way it should be.
Population really doesn't have much to do with it, standard of living is a *massive* factor in crime rates, especially in regards to health, income, jobs, opportunities etc'.
Plus we have an effective gun-control system, that has worked extremely well.

Australia by comparison has an incarceration rate of 205 prisoners per 100,000 of the national population. - We don't have the death penalty.

As I said, it does not work in the US because they keep a prisoner sentenced to death in prison for 10+ years. And we both know that the incarceration rate in Australia is low because the judges prefer to let the criminals go. Like these mofos:
