OVERWATCH PTR GOES LIVE IN THE WEST, COMPETITIVE MODE TESTING HAS BEGUN

http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-ptr-goes-live-in-the-west-competitive-mode-testing-has-begun/

Last week, Jeff Kaplan said Blizzard was thinking about launching a public test realm for Overwatch. This week—hey, here it is!

It's actually a public test region, not realm, and it's been running in South Korea for a little while already (that's where these Golden Gun images came from). But now it's live in the West as well, and the currently-in-development patch is live on it and waiting for some love. To take part, restart Battle.net, go to the Overwatch tab, select “PTR: Overwatch” from the Region/Account drop-down menu, and click on install. When all is done and updated, click “Play,” and your PTR adventures will begin!

EUROPA UNIVERSALIS IV DLC "FREDMAN'S EPISTLES" IS FREE UNTIL JULY 4

http://www.pcgamer.com/europa-universalis-iv-dlc-fredmans-epistles-is-free-until-july-4/

Things are going pretty well for Paradox Interactive. Hearts of Iron IV sold more than 200,000 copies in two weeks, Stellaris moved 500,000 copies in just over a month, and Europa Universalis IV has now sold more than one million copies world-wide. That's not a lot compared to, say, the latest Call of Duty or Halo, but for a historical grand strategy game set in the mid-15th to early-19th century? It's enough to make a niche developer/publisher like Paradox happy—so happy that it's decided to make the new EUIV DLC Fredman's Epistles free for everyone until July 4.

MAFIA 3 PREORDER BONUSES REVEALED

http://www.pcgamer.com/mafia-3-preorder-bonuses-revealed/

The Mafia 3 trailer that came out of E3 a couple weeks ago was really impressive, setting up a tale of betrayal and bloody revenge in the racially-strained American south of the 1960s. Today's video is predictably not up to that level—it's preorder bonus reveal, after all—but still has pretty great music.

SQUAD DEVELOPMENT KIT OUT NOW

http://www.pcgamer.com/squad-development-kit-out-now/

Early Access, multiplayer-focused military shooter Squad is "exceptional" so far, according to Ian Birnbaum. But you know what makes "exceptional" things even better? Modding tools.

SINS OF A SOLAR EMPIRE: REBELLION GETS OUTLAW SECTORS DLC

http://www.pcgamer.com/sins-of-a-solar-empire-rebellion-gets-outlaw-sectors-dlc/

Gorgeous space RTS/4X Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion has a new expansion, which has popped up rather suddenly on Steam and the Stardock store. The Outlaw Sectors DLC not only embiggens pirates, it adds militias to the game that "will grow, raid nearby systems, and repopulate over time". As with pirates, you'll be able to pay militias to do your bidding, using them "to help defend your worlds, or coordinate your attacks with their strikes for maximum impact". Why can't everyone just get along?

BOSS RUSH ACTION GAME FURI OUT JULY 5

http://www.pcgamer.com/boss-rush-action-game-furi-out-july-5/

Stylish action game Furi looks to be all meat and no fat, meaning that, like Shadow of the Colossus, it does away with regular enemy fodder to focus purely on boss battles. The gifs on James Davenport's hands-on are pretty mesmerising and, well, just pretty, in part due to the fact that Afro Samurai’s Takashi Okazaki is involved with the art design.

SIERRA-STYLE RETRO ADVENTURE DARK FEAR HITS PC

http://www.pcgamer.com/sierra-style-retro-adventure-dark-fear-hits-pc/

The name 'Dark Fear' doesn't really tell you anything, other than that horror is probably involved to some degree, so know that this is a vaguely Myst-y point and click adventure set in a spooky environment, but with RPG-style battles and stats, and for some reason hunting and fishing minigames too.
