certainly the best game at E3, i just get more and more impressed with this game every time i see it. 8 more months...

so it seems dialogue choices dont have an effect on the overall story, i wonder if that will cause some reviewers to complain about. personally i am ok with it as long as the story is good, which is seems to be.

I don't know where this idea that dialogue options should lead to story changes is coming from. It appears to be writing itself. The 'norm' is that they don't but for some reason it's slowly becoming a negative and for me that's going to be detrimental to narratives in the future. I've even seen people suggesting TLOU should have had them and my only conclusion is people are stupid.

well lately in RPG's dialogue options lead to different results. Skyrim, The Witcher, Fallout, deus ex. and even in games like Until Dawn and Heavy Rain. its more and more becoming the norm when dialogue options are shown. and reviewers might see this as "lacking". personally i wouldnt have a problem with it if the story is good, as i said. i wouldnt even have a problem if the main story had a fixed story, while side quests (even if they are just smaller side quests) have options that effect the results.
