The anime wasn't terrible...but it was incredibly rushed. Manga fans complain about this in anime a lot, but this is probably one of the worst offenders of it honestly. It adapted the first 90 chapters and condensed them into 12 episodes...and so a ton of of plot points and dialogue was removed, and most of the characters barely did anything. I watched the anime first, and Yamada, Shiraishi, Miyamura, and Odagiri are the only characters that really left an impression on me. As for the manga...I've more or less dropped it. I enjoyed the humor, but I can't build up the motivation to keep reading when i don't really care what's going on. I have too manga in my backlog to keep reading something that I'm extremely lukewarm about. Still, I enjoyed the first 90 chapters a lot, so if I never come back to it, I'll look back on that part of the story alone. |
Yeah, I figured they condensed it into a tiny series. Considering where the manga was at, there's no way they would be able to fit it all. I figure the novelty would come from watching it move in action as an anime, as well as the quirky moments. I don't think I would mind it much, but... I dunno, I guess I'm not in the zone to try watching it. The manga is enough for me, and unless you're caught up with the series, I don't think there would be much incentive for people to continue with it past the initial arc.
Dance my pretties!
