Oh please, stop with the hyperbole. Microsoft announced a new, slimmer, better looking XB1 for $300, obviously pre-orders will be good. Also, those pre-orders have been up for just 7 days. Sony needs to drop to $300 when XB1 outsells the PS4 multiple months in a row, if sales are down YoY multiple months in a row (in certain conditions, obviously a certain month might have had a big game in 2015 but not in 2016, causing a YoY drop, no shame in that) or when the Neo launches (based on the Neo's price).

Also, even before dropping the price Sony can still try 2 things: a $350 Uncharted 4 bundle (maybe even including The Nathan Drake Collection) and a well priced PS4+PSVR bundle could do good numbers if PSVR is well received.
