Only when one is an imminent threat to the safety of others can/should one be killed. Therefore the death penalty is immoral. Considering the number of falsely accused prisoners, I find no solace in even one innocent person dieing if a hundred guilty are killed. Life in prison is also cheaper due to the nature of appeals.
