Yeah, showing your games or talking about them asap of course have its purpose, being a selling point to your system is a very good one, but yet, that should only happen close to a new system launch, when it's already out there and people are getting it, there is not that much need to show it so soon, it'll generate a lot of attention, but that ends up being wasted in the go while people wait to actually get them.

I want to know where would be Nintendo now if they had not announced Zelda years before launch ?.

Announcing games before launch isn't a bad thing and I'm surprised that majority of people prefer a game releasing In less than 1 year for a event that  is held in the beggining of the 2 half of the Year, People need to know what expect and they need to know that you isn't dead and the ones who don't have a console will look to the future releases and purchase the console.

The statement that Phill Spencer made about games's release dates should not be take so serious, he was just protecting the Xbox Brand and he wasn't saying that those kind of Announcements are bad, this was his only defense against Sony's announcements.

I think Ninty would be in the same or worse position. Imagine them not mentioning Zelda at all? Hell I would imagine that there would be less Wii Us sold as people who want it for Zelda would have came to the conclussion they werent getting one.
