Would announcing games closer to launch at events like E3, be better for their sales?

Announcing games before launch isn't a bad thing and I'm surprised that majority of people prefer a game releasing In less than 1 year for a event that  is held in the beggining of the 2 half of the Year, People need to know what expect and they need to know that you isn't dead and the ones who don't have a console will look to the future releases and purchase the console.

 

The statement that Phill Spencer made about games's release dates should not be take so serious, he was just protecting the Xbox Brand and he wasn't saying that those kind of Announcements are bad, this was his only defense against Sony's announcements.

But Zelda is a release title for their new system, as I said, it's a good move to keep people interested to get to your new system.

The thing about Spin Spencer and his statement has nothing to do with the thread, though XP

The game wasn't their launch tittle when it was announced. This thread only exist because of Phill Spencer's statement being it intentional or not, everyone is downplaying Sony because of the Release dates only because of Phill Spencer's  statement, we already had several threads regarding his statement.
