I'm not usually one of those who says crap like 'don't listen to reviews, judge for yourself, bla bla bla', when a game they're excited for gets middling reviews. That's head-in-sand stuff and I've got no time for it. The Meta average more often than not tends to be a good indicator of a game's quality (give or take 5 or so points), but Mirror's Edge is a rare exception.

The original divided review opinion quite a lot (Meta of 79, vs current Meta of 73-75 for Catalyst), yet the game itself is one of the most beautiful, memorable, and deep (in gameplay terms) titles of the last generation; one of only a handful that made a lasting impression on me. So for that reason this reboot really is a game I'm going to have to play for myself and won't be reading reviews for.

Fair enough but you cant deny the absymal unexcepted user score which is a better indicator these days on metacritic in general. And i cant recall the fanbase being upset with anything prior to the games release, like with the typical EA drama we have seen with Battlefronts season pass, no singleplayer etc.

Not even the Order 1886 had so much hate on the user score.
