They never praised the Wii U.

Not them specifically.  Plenty of other devs had.  Those were official.  There were also these "Devs praise Wii U.... People will be impressed..." etc that this person is currently saying.  Not saying the NX will be bad or anything.  I just don't trust what this guy is saying, especially when this talk was almost identical to what we were hearing with the Wii U.

I understand what you are saying but with regards to the devs in 2012 keep in mind that the Wii U was coming out on the coat-tails of the monstrously successful Wii and DS.  In 2012, Nintendo was basically seen as being the Apple of video games and pretty much nobody in gaming thought the Wii U would sell less than 50 million units (and the very few who did were heavily criticized by the masses).  It was probably very easy for a develooper to praise the Wii U in 2012 just nobody had any reason to think that it might bomb.

In 2016, things are quite different.  Nintendo is far from top dog now and 3rd party developers are in a position of power over Nintendo.  in 2016, 3rd party developers are in no way pressured by public opinion to praise the NX or to even promise support for it and yet they seem to be doing exactly that.  Maybe it's just posturing and 3rd Party developers will cut support for the NX as soon as they see signs of it bombing like the Wii U did, but something must attracting their attention because Nintendo's reputation and recent track record as a console developer definitely isn't doing anything for the NX.
