You can basically just flip a switch to change the resolution a game renders at, it doesn't take much at all. As long as the GUI is designed in such a way that it's not absolutely horrific at a lower/higher resolution. Like how Emulators on PC can play n64/ps1 games at 1080p, they didn't have to go through every game making changes in the emulation, they just tell it what resolution to render at and bam, it's done.

But yeah Neo releasing a year early, less powerful but also much cheaper too would definitely put it in a strong position, but again I'm very doubtful it will come this year.
