I also think we need to consider what the upgraded systems are for. From the way MS is talking, it seems the Scorpio is basically just going to be used to output the same XBO games, but at 4K. Hence, the "unless you have a 4K TV, Scorpio isn't going to do anything for you" comment. So, only higher res, no real improvement to visuals.

From what I have read, it seems Sony is giving devs more freedom to choose how to use the Neo. I'm thinking more along the lines of 1080p 30/60fps will be the minimum requirement, then devs use the extra power for whatever they want. You want to make the same game, but in native 4K, have at it. But, if you want to keep the res at native 1080p, we have an upscaler to get it to 4K, and you can push the visuals as far as you can.

Personally, the 2nd one is more appealing to me. And given Sony's true exclusives it still has to come out, I think the vast majority of gamers looking to upgrade are going to stay with the PS4 family. No secret sauce has, or will, change this.

Developers have the same freedom to use the Scorpio's power however they want just as they do with Neo, just more of it with Scorpio :)

Then why the 4K TV comment?  If they truly have the freedom to keep a game at 1080p, while pushing graphics, why would Spencer say the Scorpio will do nothing for you unless you have a 4K TV?  I think that's just wishful thinking on your part.

To me it seems they are just tired of being looked down at for having games run at a lower resolution, so they are coming out with a system that will output games at 4K.  And considering how much power that's going to take, I highly doubt they will be pushing anything else very much.  So, like I said, basically the same games, only in 4K.
