In case anybody missed. God of War e3 2016 is a SEQUEL and not a reboot.

This American cliche is more popular than the past approach to the series, this game has more mass market appeal than previous God of War games. Not like DMC at all.

I think they specifically did this to expand the poularity of the series. It has many hardcore fans but doesn't seem to attract newer and younger gamers. This Naughty Dog-like approach would attract the younger gamers and movie audiences more and fans wouldn't want to miss it either.

Just cause it's popular doesn't mean it's good. Just look at the top ten highest grossing movies, most of them are crap.
