Bar brief mentions at places like E3, Sony themselves have rarely ever brought up the PS4's hardware advantage, especially in recent years. It's been primarily gamers and the media pushing the "hardware narrative", not Sony (and a lot of that can be credited to the context of the difference, rather than the inherent gap). I expect it'll be the same with MS; brief mentions, but never a focus.

In recent years the industry has shown us that the hardware advantages are marginal. You have to get Digital Foundry on the case to whip out their tech to micoscopically analize most cases of performances. Even 1st party games didn't dissipate much doubts.

And here's a Watch Dog claim of 1080p 60fps, that later they had to retract:
