As far as I know Red Dead 3 wasn't shown because of the Orlando massacre.
The original plan from Sony was to close the show with the Red Dead 3 announcement and a trailer but it was a last minute change. They didn't want to show a trailer for a game like Red Dead 3 after the Orlando massacre. They just replaced Red Dead 3 announcement with Days Gone gameplay. This also explains why the conference was a bit shorter than all the other Sony conferences from the last few years.

Sorry but this sounds like total BS, how is a western game in any way related to a 21 century massacre? who said this rumor?

As Dr. Vita noted, the rumor goes that the trailer explicitly shows some robber-types walking into a saloon and shooting a bunch of innocent people. Sounds familiar, sadly.

When you look at how genuine the opening monologue was about Orlando, and how he messed up his words and was clearly moved, it's not hard to see Sony vetoing and stepping back from Red Dead Revengeance for a while.
