Oh I have no doubt there's people out there with them, but large 4k TV's cost well over $1,000 in the US and a heck of a lot more abroad for the most part. Consoles are the affordable option, exceedingly few shows even support 4k, and 4k TVs really need to be quite large to make it worth purchasing them, and I feel like there's probably not a lot of overlap between console focused gamers and large 4k TV owners... chances are the games really won't take full advantage of it initially as they have to support the older consoles as well, so that's certainly little incentive for such a large purchase.

Personally, I think the price of these TVs is still too high at the moment, as it will eventually plummet just as the 1080p TVs did. There's nothing wrong with them planning ahead of course, but I get the impression many people don't even realize they need a new TV to experience what these consoles are advertising.
