And I know many other gamers, especially Japanese, do too. What was the reasoning behind going full first-person only? Because of VR? At least give us a choice to play in third-person!

I do too. I can't play most FPS's for more that an hour at a time without getting really dizzy. 2 hours and the nausia starts to set in. Not every FPS has this effect on me, though, and adjusting the FoV helps a bit.
