This is seriously what I hope happens. I want a hardware refresh every 4 to 5 years, but I don't want a whole new gen that basically either forces me to re-buy games (both digital and physical) for the new system or keep the old system in the game cabinet. All the reasons why in the past it was really difficult to make previous hardware games compatable with new hardware are pretty much all gone.
