I was never going to buy an Xbox One despite some exciting exclusives releasing on it, so it's great to hear that games like Gears 4, Forza and Scalebound are coming to PC. But those are some high quality exclusives. How is this going to convince people to buy an Xbox One? Because Xbox One is now basically a mediocre PC with only a few exclusives and possibly none soon if any game gets the Play Anywhere treatment in the future. I've the idea I'm missing something, because this would be a terrible marketing decision. The Xbox One is now worth less to me.

Why should it convince people to buy an X1? Is it likely that you will buy some of MS´s exclusive games now that they are also coming to W10? In that case their plan has worked, since software is where they make the revenue.

Microsoft benefits because people will ALWAYS buy the games.

The platform that it is on is relevant to what the individual current has and/or prefers.  I prefer to game on my Xbox One because my gaming PC is an older one and cannot run the games.  If I can continue to do that with my current console and the upcoming Scorpio (while) having my back catalog of 360 games and my Xbox One library as a consumer I am happy.  Xbox One/MS benefits because I am still buying games specific to that platform.  There will always be people like me who prefer to just upgrade the console while still playing all the games I currently have over building a gaming PC.
