Moderate challenge to build a pc from scratch, with OS, input device, etc. that costs what these consoles cost and perform the same way.   Yeah, i know you can tdo a lot more on a PC, but tell that to the family of 3 who's kid already has a 200 dollar laptop for school projects, and now wants to build "another PC" so he can play games.  Xbox One or PS4 it is.

It's pretty obvious to me though that MS is conceeding that HW is not where they plan to make the most money.  Controllers, xbox live, sw, windows licenses, social media. Trying to get everyone on that SW drug using HW as a vessel.
