True, but you're not a "middle 80 percent" buyer.  There are a lot of people who want a closed box experience, and when you consider full A-Z, there are a lot of people who want nothing to do with building or upgrading a PC.

 

Moderate challenge to build a pc from scratch, with OS, input device, etc. that costs what these consoles cost and perform the same way.   Yeah, i know you can tdo a lot more on a PC, but tell that to the family of 3 who's kid already has a 200 dollar laptop for school projects, and now wants to build "another PC" so he can play games.  Xbox One or PS4 it is.

 

I'm just surprised that neither Sony or MS didn't wait for the 5 year mark, but rather, 4 years.  I wonder who forced who's hand...

Developers probably forced both of their hands. There have been complaints from devs that the PS4/XB1 are relatively underpowered compared to past gens and PCs right now.
