It could also be a little bit of all of them or none.
Gun laws are known to work though, maybe not in the USA due to the flow from Mexico... But that's another discussion, but the fact is, they do work when all the pieces of the puzzle are in place.
Islam/Christianity/Judaism and other Abrahamic religions have typically always been extremely anti-Homosexual, which in the correct environment can breed some pretty toxic and damaging ideas which leads to increases in suicide and abuse.
There are Christians for instance who believe the Bible in it's entirety, even the MOSAIC laws such as Leviticus and thus Homosexuality is an Abomination and they should be put to death.
With that said, whoever is willing to take another life are obviously mentally unstable or have been conditioned to do it, no exception.
I have noticed a fair few Christian outlets though who have typically been very vocal about being Anti-Homosexual are sending their "prayers" and "Condolences". Will be interesting to see if their tune changes about constantly ridiculing this particular demographic in the future though, they have been part of the problem, but it's still nice to see everyone come together in light of a tragedy.
