Well, I don't believe numeric scores are a very good way of measuring artistic quality, nor that perfection in art is possible (because it's so subjective), but if I assume that a subjective 10/10 means that I am unable to think of a single complaint about a game, then I guess Portal was the most recent.
Which is not to say I like Portal more than other games which I could make complaints about and therefor not give a perfect 10.
I mean, I can think of problems with Transistor for instance, so I couldn't give it a perfect score, but I still ejoyed it more.
It's like a score is a measure of how well a game executes what it tries to do, but games try to do different things, so a game that fails to perfectly execute it's plans can still come out more enjoyable than another game which executed its plan perfectly, but that plan was significantly less interesting. ie. Dishonored was not a perfect stealth game, whereas COD4 was a perfect military shooter, however I don't personally like military shooters, so I still ended up liking Dishonored a lot more than COD4.
