I agree to certain extend.I do agree in the aspect that companies dont seem to get that E3 is mostly about the surprises, and you can see the dissapointment about this whole "announce before the show so that people will tune in for that" in the EA conference.Outside of saying that Star Wars Battlefield 2 is in the works(and show nothing of it), we basically knew everything that was on the show before hand.Sure, there was Fifa 17 and Madden, but at this point it is a given that there is 0one each year.Imagine if we knew nothing of Battlefield 1 and in the show they came in and said:"here is the game and it takes place in WW 1!" It would make SOOOO much more impact than just releasing a trailer like they did, at the very least with the core gamers.
But I dont agree with that 6 month media silence.Thats just stupid. The best would be, if a comapny has a big game, and is ready for announcement 1 to 2 motnhs prior to E3, then hold it off and show at the show, because it will create more hype for the game and bigger buzz, and that will make for a better news for us.
But yeah, taking out Nintendo which is a bummer(Though Im still VERY excited to see Zelda), Im really looking foward for the Microsoft and Playstation conferences.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
