Fergusson is a stud, no doubt. I definitely trust him to deliver. But I have to disagree about 343. That studio has been a poor caretaker of the Halo franchise. Halo 4 was a poor showing. The single player campaign had amazing graphics, but sub-par AI and level design. And the story was a melodramatic mess. Then there was multiplayer, which borrowed all the worst aspects of modern military shooters. Halo 5 definitely improved on the multiplayer front. 343 deserves credit for Warzone, it's best contribution to the franchise - although I dislike the req system. But the single player campaign was probably the worst of the series. 343 fundamentally reorganized the way Halo plays, and not for the better. |
The melodrama wasn't until the end of the game. I wouldn't call it a mess.
As for the AI, i don't see where the problem lies. maybe if you clarified abit it'll be obvious.
Halo had to evolve, that tank movement lent to Master Chief, wouldn't cut it anymore and Bungie showed it on Halo Reach (same movements but more refined).
Halo 5 single player is like any 2nd part of trilogy, cliffhanger and leaves viewers full of questions.
