Really feel like Watch_Dogs was a good example of how marketing and funding can generate undeserved sales and decent reviews for an otherwise bland game (not to mention outright bribery via free tablets for game journalists lol). Really, probably the best case of this in recent times actually.
I suppose the second one could be much better than the first; not every franchise opens with a masterpiece. I've also seen that some people really enjoyed it, so the first one is probably better than I'm giving it credit for.
