Oh please Hynad let it be, this argument of yours is the dumbest you have ever written to me and I'm sure you know it, OoT is a game from 1998, that's 15 years before than The Last Of Us , of ourse the AI in OoT is way less advanced, that's too damn obvious, it would be a huge problem if TLOU had a 15 years old outdated kind of IA, what's the point? |
LOL. Yes, I think TLOU was revolutionary. For reasons that are different from why you think OoT was. Many people do. And no, I don't think OoT was as revolutionary as people like you do. And before you ask, I played it for the first time on release day in 1998. Now, I don't like to use the word overrated, but when I see that word being brought up, OoT is the first game that comes to my mind. This coming from a fan of the franchise since playing the very first game on the NES in 1987, in case you didn't know. To me, it was a blurry mess running at eye-hurting fps, with bad controls to boot. The atmosphere and time travel mecanics/ideas are its only redeaming aspects to me.
As for the part about AI, when applied to OoT, I said that in jest. But my point stands that you do not apply the same scrutiny and criticism to games that aren't made by Nintendo or exclusive to their consoles. That much, we all know. ^_-
That part about Ellie is laughable, by the way. It's still a game. The alternative would be countless frustrating moments where your teammate would be responsible for screwing up all your hard stealthy approaches and similar work. The way they designed her is not intrusive, and works better for the narrative they were going for. But hey, feel free to cling to any possible negative you can find in it to fit yours.
