Where is the danger to society with this man, if he only kills rapist scum. I certainly wouldn't inprison him. That money would be better spent elsewhere in healthcare and other areas. As a society we need to get more angry about violent criminals and less so about people who fight back against criminals. Once all the facts are in then a careful decison I'm sure will be made. Maybe a large fine would be suitable punishment.
I honestly know in a situation like that I wouldn't be making cool calculated decisions and would enter the property very angry, upset and unsure what to find. Instinct and quite possibly hatred would take over and that is hardly surprising given the circumstances.
Saying that the fact that a phone call could be made and he was standing in the hallway sounds like someone drugged up but ultimately you should be responsible for your own actions. If I drink excessive alcohol and run over a load of school children leaving school is it me or the alcohol responsible for those deaths.
