To me, it seems that they are deciding for the kids at this age. But maybe I am wrong, maybe they should not wait until they are in their teens or older before this happens. By then they already have to deal with years of being a certain supposed sex.

If you're born a male, you're a male and vice versa. What determines your sex is your chromosomes. You can believe that you're a girl, dress like one, act like one and get surgery to look like one, but you're a boy still because of science. Sorry, I didn't make the world. It is what it is.
