What in the world am I reading?

You know your phone will almost certainly have an option to turn itself into a mobile hotspot for you right? As in you could use your phones unlimited net from your PS4 and download your games that way at night while you're asleep or so?

If you have android, go into Settings and under Wireless and Networks click on the "more..." option, should bring you to a place which features "Tethering & Portable Hotspot" Just go into the settings now and turn off the power save option on it, fire up the PS4 and connect it to the phones WiFi hotspot instead of your Data Capped stand alone thing.

Edit - Just.. for the love of all that is Holy make sure that you don't have Wi-Fi connecting your Phone to your Stand Alone Mobile Broadband when you do this... or you'll just be using the Data Capped Mobile broadband rather than your unlimited 3/4G network Data.

Hotspot on phone is off because when you activate it, it's $50 for just 6 GB and that's max. The unlimited data on phone is NOT for running hotspot. Just phone data, which I cast to TV for streaming video. No data cap unlimited video streaming using the phones internet for $20 a month. I'm casting to TV WITHOUT using hotspot. Peer-to-peer. There is NO active WiFi running. ChromeCast and Apple TV needs an active WiFi network to cast. My setup requires NO WiFi network at all.

The mobile hotspot max data is 30 GB for less than twice the cost of just 6 GB on the phone.

Cell company wants you to buy the mobile hotspot and not use the phones hotspot.

With an android device, if you Root your phone and apply a small patch or a custom rom you can get pure unlimited on your data since it will filter out Hotspot usage from regular usage.

After doing that you can turn off the "Video is unlimited" feature and actually start watching HD video. Since the "Video is unlimtied" "FEATURE" only allows 480p max from the major streaming services.

*Edit : XDA forums is where to look on how to Root your phone. Just don't try this with a Samsung that has KNOX if your phone is still in warranty. So far KNOX is the only mobile tech that can actually detect whether or not your phone has been rooted after a full system wipe and restore.
