I would hope that they had learned something, I mean it's one thing for forcing parity but it's another to just throw in a few options that demand a lot more power but provide little visual gains. Honestly though I think it's only fair to lend more to visuals for those that pay for more high end hardware than deciding to screw them over at every turn.

How is people paying for high end hardware the problem of the game makers? What do game makers make from people buying such hardware?

That's entitlement, and no, it isn't fair to ask developers to spend more money on a version of their game (as if it wasn't expensive enough to develop all those versions at once) just because you bought high end hardware. On most occasions, the game will run better than on consoles even if they don't create a special version just for you.

Well. If the game makers don't wish to support high-end PC's they are entitled to do so.

But that comes with some caveats...

There are a plethora of PC gamers who won't bother purchasing said game because of the fact.

They will also not be able to use a high-end PC to advertise their game with their impressive visuals, which pretty much every multi-platform does, most evident when it was Frostbite powered games on last gen, EA advertised their games by using PC graphics.

There is no mendium for sound to travel in space. While amazing alright, you can't call that amazing physics,

You really have no idea what they accomplished with the Physics in that video do you? Let's just say it's more than just a box crumbling after being shot at or cloth moving in a non-existent breeze.

And whilst you are correct about sound in space, this is also a game... And just like movies it is used to add immersion.
