Joel's story is definitely finished. Ellie's story has only just begun. She would have to keep her immunity a secret which would alienate her from the group. She'd never be able to have an intimate relationship for fear of being discovered. This is likely to turn her back to what she loves the most: nature. If she is indeed pregnant then I'd assume she'd been raped, something touched upon in the first game but thankfully never fully realised. The rapist could well use her infection as a way of deflecting from his act of rape, turning the commune against her and forcing her to go out and seek a safe place to have her child. The chapters could be broken up in months this time, instead of seasons: 1 month, 3 months, 5 months, 9 months. I fucking love this idea!
