I think they learned their lesson with that though.
PC gamers tend not to enjoy having parity (Features, Graphics etc') with consoles and they were ridiculed pretty heavily because of that.

Even Microsoft's attempts have been shot down recently. PC gamers have a degree of expectation which can get pretty vocal if they aren't met. :P For better or for worst.

I would hope that they had learned something, I mean it's one thing for forcing parity but it's another to just throw in a few options that demand a lot more power but provide little visual gains. Honestly though I think it's only fair to lend more to visuals for those that pay for more high end hardware than deciding to screw them over at every turn.

How is people paying for high end hardware the problem of the game makers? What do game makers make from people buying such hardware?

That's entitlement, and no, it isn't fair to ask developers to spend more money on a version of their game (as if it wasn't expensive enough to develop all those versions at once) just because you bought high end hardware. On most occasions, the game will run better than on consoles even if they don't create a special version just for you.
