Is E3 relevant anymore?

If Nintendo goes on stage next year at E3, even if their show is the best by FAR, I'll be wondering why they didn't have a direct, a treehouse, and a event outside of E3 (like I'm doing this year but add the Direct as well).

Yet millions of people around the world watch them and they can arguably make or break a console (Xbox One). If that's not relevant then I'd love to hear what you think is?

Yet again live conferences aren't. They all could have done digital events that week and what would have changed? Nothing.
