The Wii U GamePad feels good and offers a lot of options but the placement of L/R/ZL/ZR is super awkward. I like the stick placement on the Pro Controller but the A/X/B/Y buttons are somewhat out of reach. The PS4 controller is pretty great except for the sticks, which are too far down and too close together - something that's soured the PS experience for generations.
That leaves the best of the bunch: the Xbox One controller. Just like last gen, Xbox rules this gen with its controller. The asymmetrical sticks are comfortable and properly spaced. The buttons are raised and easy to find. The triggers and bumpers feel great. And the body of the controller is meatier than the competition.
