You misunderstand, I found it mildly enjoyable but Blizzards marketing strategy (Even paying people to mention it on youtube months before beta) had me expecting a COD4 type deal, some kind of revoloution in MP gaming. Not to say my expectations were the problem because I didn't once think of overwatch until I seen the Beta by chance. The marketing already had it in my head even though I didnt give it a thought. Good marketing. Bad luck for us. This games population is going to fall drastically unless this new content everyone is going on about comes out before COD infitine progression fare. Oh and 5 or 6 hours is a LONG time, I'm probably underestimating even at that...but fuck me, I'm not playing a game I don't like for three hours. Who does that. I think the longest I got into a game that I was mildly interested in was Valkeria chronical at about 2 hours and a half but that was because I really wanted to like it. 6 hours man? Thats like sitting through the first hour of a 90 minute movie and going, ya, Im done with this. Wow. People would get into vast RPGs before 6 hours...never mind a casual team based shooter.

The first ever trailer I saw for OW was the moment I knew that it was going to aim to be like TF2 but more Pixar looking. The fact they said "we won't charge extra for maps and characters with cosmetics being the only micro trans" immedieatley set it apart from the current typical shooters out there who depend on those hyped season passes and their own over hyped marketing, just look at BF1, that got much higher than the latest COD video and OW along with the fact they went out to say "micro trans and map pack dlc", which means they are openly still sticking with their desire to keep you split up unless you pay and the majority eat that up each iteration.

Marketing affects different people. I didn't expect mind blowing huge changes to be made by that game, especially seeing as how Hearthstone hasn't blown the world apart for playing it safe for a MTG clone, just like OW being a clone of TF2 and SC being a clone of Warcraft.

The numbers drop for every MP game all the time, especially with ones that split the community for more cash and Blizz isn't charging more and more for maps and characters which gives them a better chance than BF/COD in the longrun. COD isn't going to steal absolutely everyone, especially not on PC, oh god not even by an absolute longshot will they not cap much of the PC audience, not with their fucked up port jobs and very expensive games that hardly ever go down in price.

5-6 hours is short for me, especially for looking at actual reviews which tend to put in more than that to get the full scoop of the game. Also I've been bored by RPG's before even the 2 hour mark, same with some MMO's that boast big content and WoW's last expansion was a complete letdown. I don't think we should br dragging RPG's and singleplayer games into this topic though, it;s going to become obvious and stick out like a sore thumb, especially with Goat's current thread on MP bias.

If you didn't enjoy it within the few short hours then it definitely isn't your jam. I played a few Civ games for 2-3 hrs and I knew the whole franchise wasn't my jam, same with Total War.
