I would never say that, if I would I would say nintendo :p.

Ijust dont think its the pixel count that make a game stand out. Its like saying minecraft looks better cuz it can be played at 4k 120hz.

Like someone mentioned in another post, pc games tend to be made or ported to satisfy the most people, so they dont really push the boundrys much, they leave tht up to each individuals hardware capability. While exclusives have a set limit to work with and will push it to the max. You can see that with games like star citizen. It was made with a specific hardware requirement on pc and it looks really good. But not many can play it, it had to be crowed funded cuz no serious publisher would bet on something that canot pass a million in sales, or even half of that. So theese types of games will be rare on pc, while consoles get theese all the time, games that push the current level of the console.

That's a tad Metalocalypse, Ninty has their moments too =P.

I enjoyed my years playing MC for sure, but I also ended up enjoying it more with all the custom texture packs that end up swapping textures or ones that even improved the originals, and then of course we have the custom shaders mod which changed the general look of the game yet gameplay and mobs all acted exactly the same, all without me having to crank things up to 4k or the like.

There are games out there that look great that don't always have to push the pixel count on both PC and consoles along with consoles having their good lookers, with PC we had Crysis and that got praised for pushing PC years ago, since then nothing has really happened in a big way until a few years back with PC gamers themselves funding Star Citizen. That game is pushing what Roberts Space Industries wants it to along with the desires of fans who funded them in the first place. The fans wanted a game that both pushes the pixels but also pushes the gameplay and RSI are delivering on that, I don't see what is inherently wrong with people having a desire to see and want better visuals and general improvements for the games they fund.

I love the games I play but at times when a game tries to go for realistic look and I end up seeing jaggies everywhere or blurred low res textures then my level of immersion is lowered greatly. For a game that puts focus on say DBZ Budokai or TF2 style shading, I would have no immersion breaks because the style is so simplistic along with being timeless. For games that put focus on realism, I would naturally want them to look better as time goes on and for older games that have aged well or not means I'd want to experiment with cranking up the res, some old games end up sporting older AA methods which originally resulted in jaggies (which can break immersion for games that put focus on realism), cranking up to 4k or even 2k for older titles along with new ones can result in smoothing out the jags and improving general immersion levels, I know I really love fine details and ones that are especially smooth for a game that tries to pass itself to looking life-like.

For the hardware part with SC, you must udnerstand that there are things in this world that not all of us have in terms of luxuries, there are holiday trips that can cost half a million which we all clearly are not entirely privvy to, to demand all holidays and anything premium in this world be made super cheap would end up devaluing the holiday/premium product/service itself and of course not everyone on this planet wants to have their experience they paid for ruined by someone else who doesn't want to earn the same let alone pay. What I;m trying to get at is, for those that want to play SC as it is intended means they have to upgrade their hardware to meet those requirements, the same way MS says to upgrade to 10 to get the latest updates and features, the same for upgraded or better home loans, consoles, many other products and services require upgrades and some can be pricey but in this world we have plenty of those so there are reasons why they exist and continue to do so.

Also yes there are some that tend to push the level of the current console, but not in the same way to push a PC, each gen there has to be a push or those that desire a push will go somewhere instead (those that go gaga for visuals or boast them definitely love visual pushes and want more, that crowd will move for sure if no major pushes are made at all), with PC we don't really need constant pushes all the time, there is no absolute need unless a group demand it (like with SC funding in the millions for example).
