Well the press have been using a standard PS4 thus far so I wouldn't worry.

I think this "rumour" is just an extrapolation of the logic that VR will certainly run better and to the visual standard people expect from PS4 on Neo and whereas PS4 will see graphically cutbacks (As we've seen from live demos). VR intended to meet modern expectations is obviously in need of hardware far stronger than the PS4, just look at the oculus and its minimum specs...I think thats essentially what the quotes are referring to. Lets not forget that theres a minimum fps requirement forced on devs so unless the tech sony uses to up sample 60fps to120 works poorly I wouldn't pay any attention this.
