For anyone who thinks yes, I have to break it to you all, 3D is not a gimmick that works for home purposes. 3D TVs are a failed experiment, and the 3DS is the worst selling Nintendo handheld line, proving that the gimmick is still not a smart investment since it obviously didn't do anything for sales. People like 3D on massive screens in movie theaters; it doesn't seem to have much of a place in the everyday home.

Nintendo is better off ditching it and spending the money saved from using the special 3D capable screens on better, more capable tech in general. Holding back their hardware again with a relatively unimpressive and unnecessary gimmick would be a really, really dumb idea, especially given the very mixed public reception to the idea as a whole. Honestly, I would prefer it if they ditched the dual screen set up too and simply settled for one bigger, higher quality screen from the start, but Nintendo seems pretty attached to the dual screen set up at this point.
