Gears of War 3. It had the most emotional story (even if I could understand why that's a turn off for veteran Gears players), the best set-pieces (aside from Jacinto in Geow2), a nice score and the most refined gameplay. I also poured around 200 hours in the multiplayer, which is extremely rare considering how disenchanted I am with the MP aspect of videogames in general.

It definitively had its flaws, but the overall package was amazing in Gears of War 3. Kind of wished it had some old-school Horde mode like in Geow2, though. I mean, the new one is nice and invites both replayability and strategical placing of defenses, but there was something charming about you alone against an horde, like 2 did.
